The Federal Road Safety Corps FRSC today impounded a Passat saloon car and arrested the driver with two other occupants for allegedly engaging in one chance operation along Wuse-Zone 3 under bridge in Abuja attempting to push a victim out of the vehicle.
Addressing news men in Abuja, the FCT Sector Commander of FRSC, Mr Felix Theman said the patrol team swiftly followed them as they sped off until they got stucked in traffic and decided to abandon the vehicle and ran off.
The Sector Commander said the team pursued the suspects and caught up with the two female members while the only male jumped across the wall of a building to escape but was also arrested.
He explained that the vehicle and the alleged criminals were brought to the sector command in Zone 7.after informing the FCT police commissioner who directed the Wuse Divisional Police Officer to receive the suspects for further investigation.
Mr Theman said during interrogation, they denied being a gang of one chance but a 419 gang.
The FCT Sector Commander, therefore, appealed to commuters to be security conscious and avoid boarding unregistered vehicles that are being used for nefarious activities in the territory.
He assured the public that the Corps would continue to make FCT roads safe for residents to carry out their lawful activities.
