Cleric Demands Investigation To Unravel Cause Of Wife’s Death

The husband of the late Special Adviser to the Governor of Delta State on Trade and Export, Pastor David Favour Love, is demanding a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of his wife, Chief (Mrs) Shimite Winifred Love.

Pastor Love made the call while addressing newsmen in Abuja.

Pastor Love appealed to the inspector general of Police, Kayode Egbetokun to launch an investigation to unravel the sudden death of his wife.

The clergyman who demanded a transparent probe, added that only a full investigation by the authorities could put the matter to rest.

“I suspect foul play in my wife’s death. I call on the Inspector-General of Police to properly investigate this matter, as questions remain unanswered”.

The clergyman, who became emotional during the briefing, also called for the return of his late wife’s personal belongings, including her phone.

He alleged that political discrimination and family interests might be fueling the controversies, recalling that his wife had confided in him about being sidelined in politics because she was not married to a Delta man.

He dismissed allegations circulating on social media that he was responsible for his wife’s death, describing the claims as malicious and politically motivated.

Pastor Love who further insisted that his marriage to Winifred was lawful and mutually consented to, solemnized on January 18 and 19, 2024 argued that reports of domestic violence were fabricated to tarnish his image and conceal the truth.

“For now, the family and political circles in Delta State remain divided, with questions still hanging over the true circumstances of Winifred’s death,” he said.
