Deputy Speaker Mourns Former IGP, Arase

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr Benjamin Okezie Kalu, has expressed sadness over the demise of former Inspector-General of Police, IGP and immediate Past Chairman of the Police Service Commission, Solomon Ehigiator Arase.

In a statement in Abuja by his Chief Press Secretary,
Livinus Nwabughiogu, Mr Kalu extends his heartfelt condolences to the immediate family of the deceased, the current IGP, Kayode Egbetokun and the entire Nigeria Police Force, saying that Arase’s passing has left an unfillable void in the nation’s law enforcement community.

Describing Arase as a dedicated former Police Chief, the Deputy Speaker says that his tenure was marked by visionary leadership, innovative reforms, and an unrelenting pursuit of justice.

He adds that Arase’s worthy contributions to the development of the Police Force would forever be etched in the collective memory of the people.

Commiserating with the deceased family, friends and associates over the loss, Kalu prays for the repose of Arase’s soul.

“Former IGP, Arase was no doubt a distinguished Police Chief. As far as I can remember, he was a symbol of unwavering dedication to duty. His passing is very shocking and has indeed, left an unfillable void in our nation’s law enforcement community.”

“As a committed law enforcement officer, his tenure was marked by visionary leadership, innovative reforms, and an unrelenting pursuit of justice. He did his best to ensure the protection of lives and property of Nigerians.”

“His contributions to the Nigeria Police Force will forever be etched in our collective memory and I am sure his legacy will continue to inspire a new generation of police officers.”

“I extend my heartfelt condolences to the family, current IGP, friends, and former colleagues. May the memories of his remarkable life and service bring solace to those who loved him, and may his soul rest in eternal peace.”
