todayAugust 26, 2025

Background

Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation has organized a sensitization programme in Yola to enlighten citizens on Federal Government intervention projects at the federal, state and local levels, as part of efforts to showcase the mid-term achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

The programme, held at the Conference Hall of the National Library in Yola, brought together traditional rulers, community leaders, civil society groups, stakeholders and members of the public, creating a forum for dialogue between government and the people.

In a welcome address, Mrs. Rhoda I. Maina, Head of the Federal Information Resource Centre FIRC Yola, who represented the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, stressed the importance of bridging the information gap between the government and the people.

The Minister urged participants to take advantage of the opportunity to understand and engage with ongoing initiatives.

The Guest speaker, Dr. Richard Awoshiri, in his presentation, highlighted the importance of the sensitization forum and encouraged citizens to take advantage of the opportunity to deepen their understanding of government initiatives.

Dr. Awoshiri further called on citizens to support government policies by participating actively in community-based projects, stressing that collective responsibility was key to sustaining national development.

The Director of Media of the All Progressives Congress APC in Adamawa State, Muhammad Abdul Mayas, also gave a testimony on the achievements of President Tinubu’s administration.

He commended the various policies and programmes rolled out by the Federal Government, noting that they have positively impacted citizens, especially in the areas of education, agriculture, infrastructure, and social welfare.

The sensitization provided a platform for citizens to access firsthand information, ask questions, and give feedback reflecting government’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and public participation.

Officials of the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation said the Yola engagement is part of a nationwide campaign to ensure that government’s programmes are well-understood and accessible, reinforcing the administration’s resolve to connect with Nigerians and deliver development to communities across the country.
