Upscale Fire Fighting Techniques To Curb Fire Incidents- Interior Minister

The Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has urged the new Controller General of the Federal Fire Service, Samuel Adeyemi to upscale Fire fighting techniques in the face of evolving fire incidents in the country.

The Minister gave the advice at the decoration of the new Controller General in Abuja.

The Minister of Interior Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo who reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment towards ensuring a robust response to emergency situations also called on the CG to emplace measures to prevent incidences of fire in Nigeria.

The Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Dr Magdalene Ajani, emphasized on the need for the new Controller General to consistently strive for professional competence to enhance service delivery .

‘”To the new CG, a lot is going to be on your table, my challenge to you is to be true to the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Nigerians and yourself, you must learn to work in line with the extant laws and regulations of this country and put the country first, and what I can assure you is that you will have 100% support from the ministry and from your colleagues”.

The Secretary to the Civil Defence ,Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board Retired Major General Abdulmalik Jibril said that the new fire CG’s appointment was based on merit.

Responding the newly decorated Controller General of the Federal Fire Service Samuel Adeyemi thanked the Minister of Interior Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo for finding him worthy for the job and pledged to deliver on the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.

The event, which marked the beginning of a new era in the leadership of the Federal Fire Service, was attended by colleagues, friends, and well wishers of the new Controller General of the Federal Fire Service, Samuel Adeyemi.
