Abuja To Host 1st Joint Security Forensic Conference

todayAugust 13, 2025

Background

In a renewed push to combat fraud and insecurity, Abuja will host the maiden edition of the First Joint Security Forensic Conference, bringing together stakeholders from Nigeria’s security, financial, and technology sectors under the theme “One Nation, One Network.”

The conference, convened by forensic fraud expert and economist, Her Royal Highness Erelu Dr. Pearl Chidinma Ogbulu, will also feature the public launch of her new book, Fraud Unmasked: Forensic Fraud Solutions.

The book, she said, is a practical toolkit for detecting, preventing, and responding to fraud, offering tested investigative methods, policy recommendations, and preventive strategies.

Addressing journalists ahead of the event, Dr. Ogbulu stressed that the gathering aims to end the fragmented systems that weaken Nigeria’s anti-fraud efforts by fostering real-time collaboration among law enforcement agencies, regulators, technology experts, and civic bodies.

“Fraud is a silent predator that drains resources, erodes public trust, and undermines national development,” she said. “We cannot afford to treat it as someone else’s problem. It demands coordinated strategies, real-time data sharing, and united action.”

She added that royalty, in her view, goes beyond simply sitting in the palace; it means actively engaging in finding solutions to the challenges confronting the nation.

Over the course of the conference, experts in forensic science, cybersecurity, risk management, and governance will present practical tools and emerging technologies to strengthen anti-fraud systems in both the public and private sectors.

Dr. Ogbulu called on policymakers to enact stronger laws, the private sector to invest in robust prevention mechanisms, and citizens to remain vigilant. She also commended the media for its role in promoting transparency and accountability.

“This conference marks the beginning of a stronger, smarter, and more united fight against fraud,” she said. “This is about reclaiming what belongs to Nigeria — integrity, security, and trust.”

The event is expected to draw a diverse mix of security experts, financial professionals, government officials, and civil society representatives committed to advancing national resilience against fraud and insecurity.
