Kapital FM 92.9 The Station that Rocks!
The federal government has launched a digital platform, “Community of Practice”, COP aimed at improving teachers’ professionalism and development, to meet international best practices.
To this end, over 80 teachers selected from 4 States, as well as some staff of the Ministry of Education, are currently undergoing a 4-day workshop organized by the Ministry in Abuja.
The aim of the workshop is to ensure the effective domestication and sustainability of the Community of Practice initiative within the country.
At the occasion in Abuja, the Minister of State for Education, Prof Suwaiba Ahmad explained that the platform would equip teachers with skills to navigate through digital modules and nurture strong collaborative professional networks across schools.

She added that it would not only boost teaching skills using 21st-century tools but also motivate and reward teachers’ progress.
“Communities of Practice is a deliberate and strategic step towards the rollout of EDU REVAMP Platform. COP must work,and we need people that are passionate,to drive the process”.
In his remarks, the CL4 STEM and Communities of Practice, COP Project leader, Prof Mustapha Tajordeen while highlighting the objectives, noted that it would leverage on ICT towards unlocking the full potential of both educators and learners, while maximizing limited resources and harnessing the expertise of colleagues in the sector.
The four day workshop, which drew participants from Niger, Kano, Kaduna, and Oyo states is themed “Revamping Education through Collaborative innovations and Practice.
