Kogi : Over 200 Farmers Benefit From RHI’s Agricultural Support Prog

Background

Over Two Hundred Farmers in Kogi State have benefited from the Agricultural Support Program of the Renewed Hope Initiative, RHI.

At the flag-Off and distribution of the Agricultural Inputs at the Mohammadu Buhari Square, Lokoja, Founder of RHI, Senator Oluremi Tinubu explained that the initiative was to empower farmers, enhance food security, create employment, and foster economic growth in the Country.

Represented by the Wife of the Governor of Kogi State, Hajiya Sefinat Ododo, Mrs Tinubu urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the inputs to expand their agricultural ventures, and contribute to local and national food production.

The State Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Mr Timothy Ojoma
applauded the First Lady’s efforts to combat poverty and ensure food security in the Country.

The State Commissioner for Education, Mr Wemi Jones who was represented by the Acting Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mrs Barikisu Onazare, commended the inclusion of Students in the initiative, pointing out that the gesture would encourage their participation in agriculture and contribute to economic growth and self-reliance.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mrs Elizabeth Ayodele thanked the first lady of the nation and prayed for God’s protection over her family.

The beneficiaries including Women in Agriculture, Young Famers Club and Every Home a Garden, received equipment such as Knapsack sprayers, wheelbarrows, Grinding machines, Water spraying cans, Hoes, Improved Cassava Stems, fertilizers amongst others.
