President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commissioned the newly constructed access roads leading to the EFCC Academy located in the Giri District of Gwagwalada Area Council, Abuja, with emphasizes that no community will be overlooked, regardless of size or location.
During the ceremony, President Tinubu who was represented by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, lauded the FCT Minister, Dr Nyesom Wike, for his unwavering commitment to infrastructure development, especially in rural communities.
President Tinubu described the project as a symbol of inclusion and national unity, highlighting that the road stands as a bridge connecting the people to the government’s vision of equitable development.
“These roads in Giri are more than access ways. They are bridges of inclusion, signals of recognition, and instruments of national unity. They remind us that development must reach the outskirts just as it touches the city center,” the President said.
He praised Minister Wike’s leadership and visionary contributions to the transformation of the FCT, noting that the Renewed Hope Agenda of his administration has not only been embraced but localized and implemented meaningfully.
“From Maitama, Jahi, Katampe, Uye, Mabushi, to Gwagwalada, Kwali, Bwari, Abaji, and now Giri, your leadership has brought progress closer to the people. You have made our agenda real and tangible,” Tinubu remarked.
The President thanked all stakeholders for their cooperation.“To the residents of Giri, may these roads lead you to greater opportunities,carrying children to school, farmers to markets, families to healthcare, and dreams to reality,” he added.
In his address, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike expressed appreciation to the National Assembly for supporting the funding of the project through supplementary budgets, recognizing the urgency of developing the area.
“We knew the importance of this road. If we didn’t do it now, it would become a problem later. Giri must be developed like other districts,” Wike stated.
He revealed that with the completion of the access roads, the FCT Administration has directed the Executive Secretary of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) and other relevant agencies to begin detailed plans for internal roads within the district.
