The Senior Pastor First Baptist Church Garki Abuja, Reverend Tom Takpatore has called on the Federal Government to urgently come up with measures to ameliorate the effects of the ongoing Economic Reforms on Citizens.
Addressing the congregation during the Mid-year Thanksgiving Service of the Church, Reverend Takpatore said the reforms were biting hard on low income earners and small-scale businesses.
According to him, many Nigerians are losing jobs daily, and the cost of goods and services are out of reach of average Nigerians.
The Baptist Cleric, however, urged Nigerians not to lose hope as God was about to do something great and bring back the lost glory of the country.
Reverend Takpatore stressed the need for citizens to always appreciate God for keeping the country together in peace and unity.
Also, a deacon in the Church, Kingsley Odoh, expressed belief that the ongoing reforms would facilitate economic growth and revive the country’s moribund industries, which will eventually create more job opportunities for the Young Nigerians.
Deacon Odoh urged Nigerians to exercise patience with the administration as the country will regain its position among the comity of nations.
President, Women’s Missionary Union of the Church, Deaconess Abiola Ojo said the Mid-year Thanksgiving service provided ample opportunity for members to appreciate the love of God for the Church and the nation.
Deaconess Abiola Ojo used the service to appeal to parents to take responsibility and train their children with the fear of God.
She assured that better days were ahead for parents that invest, monitor, and guide their children aright.
The Federal ministry of Health used the special service to administer vaccines on children between the ages of Three and Fifty Nine months.
