Kapital FM 92.9 The Station that Rocks!
The All Progressive Congress, APC in Kuje Area Council has conducted its Chairmanship primary election, with Mr Samuel Shokwelo emerging as the Party’s flag bearer for the February 26 area councils election.
Mr Shokwelo secured his victory after, polling 45 votes out of 47 of the total votes cast to defeat Alhaji Abdullahi Galadima who scored zero while 2 votes were invalid.
6 aspirants were to contest but 4 withdrew in support of Mr Shokwelo including a former council chairman, Mr Shaban Tete, Mr Useni Ismaila and the only female aspirant, Aisha Yakubu while one failed to turn up.
Announcing the result, the Chairman of the electoral Committee, Mr Yakubu Bello said the exercise was free, fair and credible

In his acceptance speech, Mr Samuel Shokwelo thanked the cntestants, especially tose who stepped down for their support and promised to carry them along if given the opportunity .
Mr Shokwelo commended the leadership of the party at the national and local government levels for making the election seamless.
Speaking on the reasons for her withdrawal, the only female aspirant Aisha Yakubu who was the former speaker of the Kuje Legislative House said she withdrew from the race for progress, peace, unity and overall development of the party, Kuje Area Council and the Federal Capital Territory.
