Tinubu Arrives NASS To Address Joint Session Of Lawmakers

President Bola Tinubu is at the National Assembly, where he is to address a joint session of the lawmakers as part of the activities linedup to celebrate Nigeria’s 26 years of democracy.

Already, members of the National Assembly are sitting at the National Assembly complex in Abuja, where the event is happening.

There will also be a Democracy Day lecture later in the day, where key political figures are to deliver speeches on several issues affecting Nigeria.

Among dignitaries present are the Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma; Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule; Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN); Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume; Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Atiku Bagudu, and other members of the Cabinet.

Also present are former Senate Presidents Bukola Saraki, Anyim Pius Anyim and Ken Nnamani; former speaker, Aminu Masari and the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, among others.

Tinubu’s appearance at the joint sitting underscores the symbolic weight of the day and offers an opportunity to reflect on Nigeria’s democratic progress since the return to civilian rule in 1999.
