The Rivers State Chapter of the All Progressive Congress says there is no process of reconciliation in sight to lift the state of emergency imposed by President Bola Tinubu following the suspension of Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
The State Chairman of the party, Sir, Tony Okeocha, made this known while addressing newsmen in Abuja.
He expressed regret that since the emergency rule was imposed, Governor Fubara has refused to do the needful to return the State to democratic governance.
According to the Rivers State APC Chairman, Governor Fubara should by now be consulting with both elders and stakeholders of the State on how best to resolve the leadership crisis that brought the emergency rule .
Sir Okeocha described the Supreme Court ruling as the best in the interest of democracy and the collective progress of the State which he said saved lives and property of innocent residents .
He commended President Tinubu and the National Assembly for their quick response on declaring a State of emergency, which has helped in maintaining peace and unity in the state.
Sir Okeocha called on Rivers State people to be law abiding and continue to support the present administration as it marks the country’s democracy day.
