NMC CONUA Decries Exclusion From Earned Academic Allowances Disbursement

The Congress of University Academics CONUA, National Mathematical Centre branch, has expressed dissatisfaction over the exclusion of academic staff at the Centre from the recent disbursement of Earned Academic Allowances, EAA.

Addressing newsmen in Abuja, the Chairman of the CONUA branch, Associate Professor Awogbemi Adeyeye, who acknowledged the Federal Government’s approval of an additional fifty billion naira for the payment of EAA to universities academic staff, described the omission as unfair.

He explained that the National Mathematical Centre, despite its role as an inter-university institution responsible for training postgraduate students and university lecturers, was left out of the distribution.

Some stakeholders also called on the Federal Government to address the matter urgently, describing the exclusion as a clear injustice.

They appealed to the Federal Government to intervene and ensure that inter-university centres like the NMC are included in the distribution of future Earned Academic Allowances.
