Sallah: CG NFSS To Compliment Efforts Of Security Agencies

todayJune 5, 2025

Background

The Commander General of the Nigeria Forest Security Service, NFSS, Ambassador Joshua Adewole Osatimehin has felicitated with President Bola Tinubu, Muslims and members of NFSS on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

In his Sallah message in Abuja, Ambassador Osatimehin admonished Muslims to use the occasion in praying for the unity, peace and development of Nigeria.

He also stressed the need for them to use the period in rededicating their lives to the service of God and humanity.

According to him, this year’s Eid-el-Kabir calls for sober reflection in view of the current situation in the country.

The Commander General said members of NFSS in the 36 States of the Federation and in all the 774 Local Governments in the country have been mobilized to compliment the efforts of other security agencies in maintaining law and order as well as protect lives and property during and after the celebration.

Ambassador Osatimehin, therefore, used the opportunity to once again appeal to President Bola Tinubu to consider the formal recognition of NFSS through the signing of its Bill into law.

He noted that the Bill when signed into law would go a long way in strengthening the nation’s security apparatus and ensure the actualization of President Bola Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda for Nigerians in the area of security.

He stated that NFSS members had already been trained over the years on intelligence gathering and all security matters by both National and International Security Agencies to enhance effective security of lives and property in the country.

While reiterating the commitment of NFSS towards ensuring the success of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, Ambassador Osatimehin stressed the need for all stakeholders to always contribute their quota to the actualization of the renewed hope agenda of the present administration.
