Former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Prince Chibudom Nwuche, has expressed admiration at the remarkable infrastructural transformation witnessed under Dr. Nyesom Wike as Minister of the FCT.
Nwuche stated this in Abuja when he accompanied Wike on an inspection that took them through Gwagwalada, Kwali, and other areas within the FCT.
He praised the extent and quality of development achieved in the FCT under Wike’s leadership in less than two years.
According to the former lawmaker, who served between 1999 and 2003, the pace and scale of development in Abuja today are nothing short of extraordinary.

“The level of work going on is just incredible in under two years. I am quite amazed.
“Abuja is becoming something else. It’s a world-class city, and the development is such that they cover both the urban and rural areas.”
Particularly impressed by the integration of agricultural zones, such as farmlands in Kwali, and the presence of natural resources like water and coal, Nwuche noted that “Abuja has come back to life” with renewed energy and vision.
He applauded the FCT Minister for his passion and commitment to the job and extended commendation to the president for providing the full support needed to make such progress possible.
“We should commend the Minister for putting his heart into the job, and commend the President for giving all the support that he requires for these wonderful feats achieved so far,” he said.
On the standard of the ongoing infrastructure projects, Nwuche said, “The quality is world-class. You can see it for yourself. The roads are world-class”.
Reflecting on his time in office, Nwuche highlighted the difference in momentum and delivery.
“If we had been at this pace from 1999, Abuja would have long ago been much more than where it is today. I have seen many ministers come and go. But this is the one that really has made a great impact on the nation’s capital,” he stated.
Nwuche’s remarks echo the sentiments of many Nigerians who are beginning to witness a new dawn in the nation’s capital, with many now wondering if any future FCT Minister can surpass the precedent Wike has set.
