Nassarawa State Partners FRSC To Tame Reckless Driving

The Nassarawa State Government is partnering with the Federal Road Safety Corps FRSC on a Special Patrol tagged “Operation Sanity”, aimed at taming the menace of reckless driving and promoting a culture of safety on the state’s roads.

Governor Abdullahi Sule while flagging off the Operation in Lafia the state capital said the initiative was a bold move to restore sanity on the roads and reduce traffic crashes.

Governor Sule who warned that the era of reckless and abandon on the roads was over, said Nasarawa State government was committed to protecting the lives of its citizens and ensuring that the roads were safe for all users.

As such, the State Government will leverage on its public awareness campaign platforms to propagate this message while supporting FRSC on all fronts to enforce compliance of traffic laws,”

The Governor called on all residents of Nasarawa State to join hands with FRSC in this impactful operations against road traffic crashes.

In his remarks, FRSC Corps Marshal, Mallam Shehu Mohammed explained that the ‘Operation Sanity’ was a multi-faceted approach in traffic enforcement that would engage stakeholders from various sectors including transportation, law enforcement, and civil society towards achieving sanity on all roads.

According to him, the holistic approach will focus on enhancing road safety awareness through public enlightenment campaigns, strengthening enforcement of traffic regulations.

This also includes conducting mobile Court sessions, as well as promoting a culture of safety among road users”

The FRSC Boss noted that the initiative was expected to reduce the incidence of road traffic crashes, save lives, and promote economic development in Nassarawa state .

As the state embarks on this journey to reclaim its roads, citizens can look forward to a brighter future, where road safety is paramount and the roads are safe for all users”

Governor Abdullahi Sule flagged off the special operation during a mobile Court session in company of the Deputy Governor, Secretary to the State Government and members of the state executive council.
