Kogi State First Lady, Hajia Sefinat Ododo, has promised to advocate for every child’s access to free and quality education in the state.
She made the pledge during this year’s Children’s Day celebration in Lokoja, emphasizing the importance of education and encouraging children to strive for greatness.
While expressing joy at the various academic and non-academic presentations by students at the event, the Governor’s Wife noted that investment in the education sector by the state Government was yielding positive outcomes.
She noted that the Ododo administration remains committed to investing and implementing impactful policies that will harness the vast human resources of the citizens.

Mrs. Ododo lauded the collective responsibility of stakeholders in tackling hunger, abuse, poverty, and other threats to the future of children.
In a remark, the State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development,Fatima Momoh thanked Mrs Sefinat Ododo for the keen interest in the welfare of Children and other vulnerable groups
She called for a comprehensive approach to protect children against bullying and violence that will affects their psychological and emotional well-being.
State Commissioner for Education, Wemi Jones restated Government’s determination to strengthen policies that will guarantee inclusive, qualitative education for children.
The highlight of the event was cutting of Cake and distribution of one thousand assorted school bags with mathematical sets, and water bottles to students from various schools.
