The House of Representatives has apologized to Nigerians, particularly parents and candidates, for human errors that marred the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME.
Briefing Newsmen, in Abuja the Chairman of the House Committee on Basic Education Examination Bodies, Mr. Oboku Oforji, expressed the committee’s sympathy for affected candidates, describing the errors as avoidable and preventable noting that it had subjected some of the candidates to trauma.
“We sincerely apologize on behalf of the examination body (JAMB) to all Nigerians,” the committee said.
The Committee Chairman who praised JAMB Registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, for accepting responsibility and apologizing to the public, promised to carry out Independent and thorough investigation regarding the ugly incident.
Mr. Oforji, reiterated the Committee’s commitment to providing suggestions and enacting laws that will enhance reforms in the nation’s education sector.
The Green chamber also emphasized that they are committed to strengthening oversight function to ensure accountability in the country’s educational system, which is the cornerstone of the future.
