SDP Northern Forum Expresses Support For Gabam, NWC

The Social Democratic Party, SDP, Northern Forum, has expressed support for the National Chairman, Alhaji Shehu Gabam and members of the National Working Committee in building the party.

This is contained in a statement jointly signed by the FCT Chairman who is representing North Central, Nadeh Bisalia, the Kano State Chairman, representing North West, Ali Shettima, Gombe State Chairman, representing North East, Adamu Modibbo and the Chairman Northern Chairmen Forum B. Y. Yarima in Abuja.

The statement calls for unity among party members, resolution of any misunderstanding, and adherence to the rules and regulations of the party.

“We support the leadership of our national chairman and the other members of the working committee. Our hope is that they will unite the party and resolve any misunderstanding by adhering to the rules and regulations of the party. North and South are one entity under our national chairman. ”

It advices the National Chairman of the party to use the reconciliation mechanism as enshrined in the party’s constitution in resolving issues of the party.

“We advise him to use his wisdom to tackle this issue and to personally make a statement that will bring everyone together for an amicable resolution of the crisis.”

According to the statement, the forum disassociates itself from a statement issued on its behalf.

“We, the SDP Northern Forum, wish to disassociate ourselves from any statement released on our behalf. We have no authority to interfere in the affairs of the National Working Committee (NWC).”

“For the records, we were not present at the NWC meeting, and anyone who made such a statement on our behalf is acting maliciously and unethically”.

“We trust that the NWC has the means to address any misinformation circulated among its members. It is inappropriate for us to issue statements urging the NWC to take action against any national leader, such as the Public Relations Officer”.

“We believe in the cohesion of the party across the country and do not want to be perceived as tribalistic.”
