FCT : Adamu Solicits Support Ahead Of Area Council Election

The immediate past Speaker of the Bwari Legislative Arm and a top contender for the 2026 Bwari Area Council Chairmanship seat, Julius Adamu
has embarked on a consultative tour to rally support from key stakeholders across the council.

The two-day tour, began with courtesy visits to the incumbent Chairman of Bwari Area Council, Hon. Chief John Gabaya, and the Council Secretary, Hon. Eli Peter Kadanya.

During the meetings, Adamu presented his PDP Nomination and Expression of Interest Form and sought their support and blessings as he formally declared his intention to run.

He highlighted the importance of unity within the Peoples Democratic Party PDP ahead of the February 2026 elections.

Adamu urged party members to look beyond individual ambitions and focus on securing victory for the PDP.

“In Bwari Area Council, apart from politics, I have personal relationships with so many of you. That’s why I’m here today—to seek your partnership so we can go into this battle together,” Adamu said.

He emphasized the need for internal cohesion and pledged to work with all stakeholders to ensure the party’s success, regardless of who emerges as the flagbearer from the primaries.

Following his meeting with the council leadership, Adamu continued his tour by engaging with PDP leaders and ward executives across the ten wards of Bwari Area Council.

At these meetings, he restated his readiness to serve and promised to build on the achievements of the current administration led by John Gabaya, whom he praised for delivering impactful development.

During a stop at the PDP Area Council office, the party chairman, Ali Emmanuel, lauded Adamu’s commitment and described him as “a man we can always count on and hold by his word.”

He extended his best wishes to Adamu in the party’s forthcoming primaries.

With this early show of intent and wide-ranging consultations, Julius Adamu is positioning himself as a strong contender for the PDP chairmanship ticket in the lead-up to the 2026 Bwari Area Council elections.
