Etsu Kwali Harps On Peaceful Coexistence Between Govt Agencies, Host Communities

todayMay 16, 2025

Background

The Etsu Kwali, Ayedoo Luka Nizassan III, has underscored the importance of peaceful coexistence between host communities and government agencies, noting that such harmony is essential for effective governance and accelerated national development.

The traditional ruler made this call while receiving the Director and Chief Executive Officer of the National Mathematical Centre NMC, Prof. Promise Mebine, and his management team at his palace in Kwali, Abuja.

Etsu Kwali who commended Prof. Mebine for adopting peaceful approaches in addressing issues involving the Centre, host communities, and herdsmen, stressed the need for continued dialogue and understanding among all stakeholders to maintain lasting peace in the area.

In a remark Prof. Mebine informed the royal father of ongoing encroachment on the Centre’s land by members of the host communities and herdsmen.

He lamented that recent attempts by the Centre’s management to peacefully resolve the encroachment issues had not yielded results, as both community members and herdsmen had continued to interfere with the Centre’s activities, thereby obstructing its staff from performing their statutory duties.

Prof. 7 to the Etsu Kwali to intervene and help prevent further encroachment so as to restore peace and enable the Centre to function without disruption.
