The Nigerian Mining Cadastre Office, NMCO and the Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC, is to synergize to boost the mining industry.
Director-General of the NMCO, Obadiah Nkom, stated this when he hosted the Registrar-General of the Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC, Hussaini Magaji in Abuja.
Nkom explained that the inter-agency partnership would strengthen regulatory enforcement and foster greater transparency.
He therefore pledged the agency’s commitment to transparency, stressing readiness to share critical data with CAC to align with international standards.
The Director General of the NMCO explained that over 7,000 registered mining companies have been fully automated in its operations.
According to him, the NMCO has a tradition of disseminating vital information with relevant government agencies to combat financial crimes to strengthen the mining sector.
Earlier, the Registrar General of the Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC, Hussaini Magaji, stressed the need for improved compliance to sanitize the mining sector.
Magaji emphasized that the inter Agency collaboration would improve the nation’s mining sector and curb activities of illegal miners in the country.
