No More Registration For 2025 Hajj – NAHCON
The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON says registration for the 2025 pilgrimage is closed.
A statement by the Commission in Abuja explains that the extension was made possible through the intervention of the NAHCON Chairman, Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman after the closure of the the contract in March 25th 2025.
It says stoppage of further registration became necessary for the Commission to concentrate on airlift of pilgrims.
To this end, it says any Hajj fare deposit received after 2nd of May will be duly refunded.
Meanwhile, movement to Saudi Arabia for the Hajj commences from 9th May 2025 with the inaugural flight from Owerri, Imo State, with 315 pilgrims from Imo, Abia and Bayelsa states.
According to the statement, Senator Kashim Shettima is expected to grace the occasion as Special Guest of Honour and Governor Hope Uzodimma as the host.
It says already, the NAHCON advance team arrived Owerri on Tuesday to monitor preparations for the upcoming event.
The statement says Registration for the 2025 Hajj ended with a record of 40, 671 pilgrims to participate from the government quota with four flights scheduled to take off simultaneously on the 9th of May for the pilgrimage.
Max Air from Bauchi, two FlyNas flights, one from Kebbi and the other from Osun through Lagos departure centre, and a fourth flight from Niger totalling 2,528 pilgrims to arrive Madina on the first day.
