Speaker Distributes 22 SUVs To Traditional Rulers In Kaduna

The Speaker of the House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen has distributed 22 brand-new Sports Utility Vehicles to top traditional rulers in Kaduna State as part of efforts to empower traditional institutions.

The distribution, which took place at the Government House in Kaduna, is the second phase of the Speaker’s initiative, following an earlier distribution of six SUVs during Ramadan in Zaria.

In a statement in Abuja by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity Musa Abdullahi, the move is part of Abbas’s commitment to making traditional institutions relevant and happy.

Dr Abbas, a prince of the Zazzau Emirate, expressed his willingness to continue supporting traditional institutions, with the cooperation of the Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani.

The Speaker also highlighted the National Assembly’s efforts to elevate the roles of traditional institutions through a constitutional amendment process and establishment of a committee to oversee their affairs.

Also speaking Governor Uba Sani thanked Abbas for his interventions, promising to collaborate with him and the National Assembly for further support.

He urged traditional rulers to use the vehicles to promote unity and tolerance.
