Eight members of the Osun State caucus in the House of Representatives have reaffirmed their loyalty to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and Governor Ademola Adeleke, dismissing speculation of a mass defection to another party.
The lawmakers issued a statement denying claims made by former colleague Oluwole Oke, who recently defected from the PDP.
They described Oke’s defection as a personal decision that wouldn’t affect the party’s stability. The caucus praised Governor Adeleke’s leadership, citing his “forthright, competent, and equitable” governance style.
They commended his administration’s achievements in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and social welfare, saying these have ensured fair distribution of democratic dividends across the state.
The lawmakers also lauded the governor’s inclusive approach, which they said has promoted unity within the party, pledging their continued support for his administration at both state and federal levels.
Despite Oke’s exit, the PDP lawmakers assured constituents that their collective mandate remains intact.
They urged party faithfuls to remain focused and steadfast, affirming that the PDP is the most viable platform for sustainable development in Osun State.
The caucus called on party supporters to disregard political distractions and remain committed to the party’s ideals reiterating their readiness to defend the party’s legacy and ensure continued benefits for the people of Osun State under PDP leadership.
