NIS Begins Contactless Biometric Passport Application System

The Nigeria Immigration Service says it has started the next stage of the roll out of its Contactless Biometric Passport Application System across some Nigerian missions abroad.

A statement by the Service Public Relations Officer Akinsola Akinlabi says the countries are United States of America, Mexico, Jamaica and Brazil while Canada, Europe and Asia have since been enjoying the Contactless Biometric system.

According to the statement, the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service Mrs Kemi Nandap says the application system which is currently on Google play store is designed to allow Nigerians in diaspora renew their passport without visiting any passport centre for Biometric enrolment.

The statement says that the Contactless Biometric Passport Application will soon be rolled out in Nigeria and Australia.

It also states that the Service remains committed to innovative and efficient service delivery to Nigerians all over the world.
