The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, says the Federal Government is committed to partnering global stakeholders in the broadcast and information sector to enhance service delivery across Nigeria’s media landscape.
Speaking at the ongoing National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Show 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada, the Minister said the government plans to deploy cutting-edge technologies and acquire state-of-the-art equipment for federal media organisations.
He noted that effective communication is vital to the success of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly in mobilising public support for key policy areas.
After inspecting exhibitions of modern broadcasting tools, including transmitters, antennas, and studio equipment, the Minister emphasized the need to upgrade and replace obsolete infrastructure in Nigeria’s radio and television stations.
“We will invest in modern facilities to ensure timely, credible, and balanced information reaches the people,” Idris said.
He also highlighted the importance of exploring collaborations that offer Nigerian broadcasters access to emerging technologies and global training opportunities.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of Kintronic Laboratories, Thomas King, and the CEO of Thomson Broadcast pledged support for Nigeria’s broadcast sector.
They expressed readiness to partner the Federal Government in repositioning media establishments and regulatory agencies.
