The Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Capital Territory Command Dr Olusola Odumosu has assured his
willingness to upscale the synergy with the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCOS) to ensure robust security of the capital city.
Odumosu, gave the assurance when he welcomed the New FCT Controller of Correctional Service on a familiarization visit to his office in Abuja.
Dr. Odumosu, said both agencies have absolute responsibilities to maintain optimum security for residents and visitors in the FCT as well as the protection of Critical government infrastructure which includes the custodial facilities.
“Our work is intertwined and the two agencies need each other to actualize the mandate we were established to provide.
“In doing so, we need to work hand in gloves, putting behind our differences which brings unhealthy rivalry and aim towards the same goal of enhancing people oriented security.
” Our gun truck as we speak is stationed at your custodial facility as a testament to our support and genuine collaboration with your agency which is aimed at protecting the people of the metropolis and preventing any unsolicited attacks on your facilities and inmates”, the Commandant said.
He reiterated that the NSCDC is resilient in actualizing the mandates of protecting Critical National Assets and infrastructure as well as ensuring that law and order is maintained in the Federal Capital Territory.
” My personnel are on 24-hour surveillance, and the covert officers are also doing their jobs to ensure that credible intelligence are gathered, and we are ready to share with you when and where necessary, he assured.

Dr. Odumosu guaranteed constant collaborations and a peaceful coexistence between the two agencies, adding that, it is his desire to see that residents of the FCT sleep with their two eyes closed as a result of the commitment and synergy among security agencies.
The Comptroller, FCT Command of the Correctional Service, Ajibogun Olatubosun, said his visit was to leverage the expertise, experience, and support of the NSCDC to achieve success in the FCT.
He assured the Commandant that as agencies from the same ministry, synergy and collaboration is sacrosanct, and the NCOS is ready at any given time to collaborate on matters of security.
Olatubosun thanked the FCT Command helmsman for his warm reception and the assurance of collaboration and prompt intelligence sharing, which will further help to enhance security of NCOS facilities and prevent unsolicited surprises from criminals.
