todayMarch 29, 2025

Background

As the Holy month of Ramadan comes to a close, Vice President Kashim Shettima has called on Nigerians to continue offering prayers for President Bola Tinubu’s leadership, as well as for peace, stability, and progress in the country.

At the closing ceremony of the Ramadan Tafsir at the State House Mosque in the Presidential Villa, Abuja, Shettima emphasized the significance of prayer in guiding the nation’s destiny. He urged Nigerians to pray for the President to receive wisdom and strength in steering the country towards unity and prosperity.

“Prayer is our greatest weapon against despair and the most powerful armor for those entrusted with leadership. In this spirit, I urge us all to continue praying for our beloved nation and the leadership of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Shettima stated.

The Vice President also underscored the collective responsibility of governance, stating that it should not rest solely on the government. He highlighted the critical role of religious leaders in shaping societal values and guiding citizens towards national development.

In a statement issued by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media & Communications (Office of the Vice President), Stanley Nkwocha, Shettima called on religious leaders to continue offering moral guidance and support for national progress.

The Chief Imam of the State House Mosque, Sheikh Abdulwahid Sulaiman Abubakar, also offered prayers for President Tinubu’s administration. He prayed for divine wisdom, courage, and political will to lead the country towards prosperity, unity, and peaceful coexistence.

The event marked the conclusion of Ramadan Tafsir activities at the State House Mosque, with calls for continued spiritual commitment to national development.
