South-East Senators have appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to immortalise Professor Humphery Nwosu, by naming the INEC headquarters after him.
The honour they said was due to his contributions to the democratic dispensation in Nigeria.
The caucus described professor Nwosu as a hero, having conducted the adjudged freest and fairest election in Nigeria.
The caucus made the call at a news conference in Abuja, shortly after two prayers in motion to honour the late Chairman of then NEC did not scale through at the Senate plenary.
Speaking on behalf of the caucus, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe expressed worry that demands by the caucus to honour Professor Nwosu were turned down by the red chamber.
