NSCDC : Muslims In FCT Command Put Smiles On Faces Of Widows

todayMarch 21, 2025

Background

The Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Capital Territory, (FCT) Command, Dr Olusola Odumosu has commended the kind gesture of the FCT Command Muslims towards widows of officers who died in active service.

The FCT Boss said the gesture of providing foodstuffs and cash during the Ramadan period was a display of true love taught by prophet Muhammed and must be emulated by all.

He made the commendation while speaking during the 7th Ramadan lecture, organized by the FCT Command Muslim community at the command Headquarters, in Abuja.

Dr. Odumosu, said the theme of this year’s lecture, “peaceful coexistence in a multi Religious Society: Islamic Perspective” was apt and timely, considering the need for unity and peaceful coexistence in the country especially in a multi ethnic and heterogeneous country like Nigeria.

” To me, the best religion is Love, let’s imbibe the religion of love, seeing each other as brothers and sisters irrespective of your religion”.

“As security personnel, our duty is sacrosanct and does not allow for any form of religious disparity or discrimination at the field of duty.”

” You must be united for one purpose because your salary is not determined by your religion but your rank and your qualification”.

He expressed his profound appreciation to the muslim ummah, for their thoughtfulness to put smiles on the faces of the widows and children of their dead colleagues and called on other groups and individuals to take a cue from them by being charitable to the less privileged.

The FCT Commandant used the opportunity to wish all muslims well as they continue with their fast and also prayed for the well-being of the country .
