Economy : CAN Organizes National Day Of Prayer

The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN has called on political office holders to lead with the fear of God and ensure equitable distribution of resources to accelerate national development.

Vice President of CAN, Reverend Stephen Panya-Baba, made this appeal in Abuja during a National Day of Prayer with the theme “Dependable God” emphasizing that righteousness exalts a nation.

He urged Christians to remain steadfast in prayer, stressing that persistent supplication would play a crucial role in addressing the numerous challenges confronting the nation.

In his sermon, the guest speaker, Archbishop Daniel John-Praise, described Nigeria as a divine project, affirming that God would continue to show mercy and deliver the country from evil forces.

According to Archbishop Daniel John-Praise,”the theme is dependable God, and we came to pray,depending on the God who never fails, he is the same yesterday and forever. The God that has stood for us as a nation, even when things were so bad that we never thought that we could come out of it. At every stage God always showed us mercy. We believe as we keep praying that God will show us mercy. But more so we want to ask our leaders to do the needful.”

The service was dedicated to intercessory prayers for the nation and its leadership, seeking divine intervention for peace, unity, and progress.
