Kapital FM 92.9 The Station that Rocks!
The Acting Director General of the Federal Capital Territory Emergency Management Department (FEMD), Abdulrahman Mohammed, has commiserated with victims and families affected by the tragic fire incident at Karu Bridge, along Nyanya- Keffi Road in the FCT.
In a statement, Mohammed says the fire outbreak which started around 7:14 p.m. yesterday, claimed several lives and destroyed many vehicles.
According to the statement, preliminary investigations suggest that the incident was caused by an open-body trailer powered by Compressed Natural Gas (CNG).
The statement says several injured victims were rushed to various medical facilities, including the National Hospital, Asokoro Hospital, State House Clinic, Customs Hospital, and Nyanya General Hospital, for urgent medical attention.
The Acting DG of FEMD, called on drivers to exercise caution on the road and adhere strictly to traffic regulations to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
