Crisis in the Delta State Chapter of the All Progressive Congress has intensified following a petition calling for the removal of the Party’s National Publicity Secretary, Mr Felix Morka.
This is contained in a letter to the APC National Chairman, Alhaji Umar Ganduje.
The State Executive Committee distanced itself from the petition, describing it as baseless and unacceptable by the Committee.
In the letter, the State’s Chairman of the party, Elder Omeni Sobatie, was accused of acting unilaterally in writing the petition without approval.
The petition had accused Mr Morka of abuse of office based on his utterances on the Delta State Stakeholders Council meeting and alleged declaration of Senator Ovie Omo-Agage as the leader of the party in the State.
The SEC members, however, disagreed with the claims stressing that the APC National Publicity Secretary’s statements aligned with the National Working Committee’s position, which has not endorsed the council’s formation.
The APC Delta State SEC urged the NWC to suspend Mr Sobotie, explaining that his leadership threatens the party’s unity in Delta State and reaffirmed their total support for Mr Morka.
