The Defence Headquarters has reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and property in accordance with its constitutional mandate.
The Director Defence Media Operations Major General Markus Kangye who stated this while addressing newsmen in Abuja, assured Nigerians of troops unwavering efforts to combat insecurity and restore peace nationwide.
According to him
the Armed Forces of Nigeria, in collaboration with hybrid forces, the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), and other security agencies, have intensified their operations against terrorists, oil thieves, and criminal elements across the country.
He stated that over the past ten days, numerous terrorists were neutralized in the northeast and northwest as well as other zones with key collaborators arrested, and several kidnapped victims rescued.
General Kangye further explained that the fight against oil theft in the South South gained momentum under Operation DELTA SAFE as Troops dismantled illegal refineries and seized stolen crude oil and illegally refined diesel.
The Director also highlighted that troops apprehended three kidnappers and rescued two hostages in the Federal Capital Territory and Edo State.
General Kangye while applauding the field commanders and the troops for their loyalty and unwavering commitment to the peace and security of the nation urged Nigerians to continue to support the military and other security agencies in their fight against insecurity.
