FCT : NUJ Calls For Increased Support For Women In Leadership

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) FCT Council is marking this year’s International Women’s Day by calling for increased support for women in leadership Positions.

In a message in Abuja to commemorate the day, the council’s first female chairman, Comrade Grace Ike, emphasizes the crucial role women play in shaping the political landscape and challenging the status quo.

However, she also stressed that women must support each other, rather than betraying their own kind for personal gain or political advantage.

The NUJ FCT Council acknowledges the growing representation of women in decision-making roles and reaffirmed its commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for female professionals.

She urged leaders, the federal government, and well-meaning Nigerians to invest in promoting women’s rights and gender equality, emphasizing the importance of creating opportunities for more women to step into leadership positions.
