The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN),says Nigeria’s power generation has reached 5,713.60 megawatts (MW) marking the highest level recorded in the last four years,
The TCN reports on Tuesday that the entire 5,713MW generated was successfully transmitted across the national grid. This new peak surpasses the 5,543.20MW recorded on February 14, 2025, by 170.40MW.
“This was recorded on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at 21:30 hours, with the new generation peak of 5,713.60MW, surpassing the previous peak of 5,543.20MW achieved on February 14, 2025, by 170.40MW,” the TCN stated.
While the latest peak remains 88MW lower than Nigeria’s all-time high of 5,801.60MW recorded on March 1, 2021, the TCN described it as a significant milestone
The country recorded process in daily energy transmission, reaching 125,542.06 megawatt-hours (MWh). This exceeded the previous record of 125,159.48MWh set on February 14, 2025, by 382.58MWh.
The increase in power generation comes amid ongoing efforts to improve electricity supply across the country.
