HOR : Group Lauds Onuakalusi’s Responsive Representation

A group, Patriotic People of Isolo, PPoI, has commended Okey Joe Onuakalusi for his responsive representation of Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency II in the House of Representatives.

In a statement in Abuja, the group’s National Coordinator, Mazi Chucks Nwosu, applauded Onuakalusi’s leadership, compassion, and dedication to his constituents, particularly during the devastating floods that ravaged Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Area
affecting approximately 21,862 people and causing significant economic hardship.

Nwosu notes that efforts of Onuakalusi, Member representating Oshodi -Isolo Federal Constituency II, under the platform of the Labour party, led to the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, providing relief materials to alleviate suffering and economic hardship caused by the flooding.

The group praised Onuakalusi’s commitment to his constituents’ welfare, citing his advocacy for federal intervention in addressing the challenges faced by his constituents.

According to him, Onuakalusi’s leadership, compassion, and dedication to his constituents have shown a shining example of effective representation, inspiring hope and confidence in the hearts of his constituents.

“His remarkable leadership qualities have been a beacon of hope for Oshodi-Isolo constituents. His tireless efforts led to the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, providing relief materials, alleviating the suffering and economic hardship caused by the flooding”.

“NEMA officials conducted an on-the-spot assessment in collaboration with Community leaders in Oshodi-Isolo. This joint effort enabled the agency to gather firsthand information on the extent of the damage, identify most pressing needs of the affected population, and develop targeted interventions to alleviate their suffering”.

“By engaging with Community leaders, NEMA officials were able to gain valuable insights into the local context, including specific challenges, faced by residents, existing social support structures, and the most effective channels for delivering aid. This community-centered approach ensured that the relief efforts were tailored to the unique needs of the affected populations, maximizing their impact and effectiveness.”

“The assessment also highlighted the importance of collaboration and coordination among different stakeholders in responding to disasters. By working together with NEMA officials, community leaders, and other partners to leverage their collective expertise, resources, and networks to deliver a more comprehensive and sustainable response to the flooding crisis. “

“Ultimately, the on-the-spot assessment and subsequent relief efforts demonstrated Government’s commitment to supporting vulnerable populations in times of crisis.

“By prioritizing the needs of affected residents and working collaboratively with community leaders, NEMA and other stakeholders helped to mitigate the impact of the flooding, promote recovery, and build resilience in the face of future disasters”.

“As a dedicated representative, Rep Onuakalusi has demonstrated his commitment to his constituents’ welfare through various initiatives. His advocacy for federal intervention in addressing the challenges faced by his constituents is commendable.”

PPoI also commended Onuakalusi’s foundation, which focuses on empowering vulnerable populations through women/youth empowerment, education, health, inclusivity, human rights, and demographic mapping.

The group further noted that Onuakalusi supervised the distribution of rice and other essential food items provided by NEMA as relief support for individuals affected by flooding in Oshodi-Isolo.
