CDCFIB Adopts Rtd General Abdulmalik Jibril As Board’s Secretary

In line with the tradition of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), Retired Major General Abdulmalik Jibril has officially been adopted and approved as the new Secretary of the Board.

The adoption was made in Abuja during the board’s first sitting this year.

The Chairman of the Board and Minister of Interior Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo represented by the Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Dr. Ahmed Audi announced the Board’s decision.

Today, February 6, 2025, the board has approved and adopted the nomination and appointment of the board secretary by Mr. President. And so, Major General Abdulmalik Jibril (Rtd.) will henceforth serve as the board secretary.”

He expressed confidence in Jibril’s ability to handle the responsibilities of the role, which include appointments, promotions and discipline within the agencies under the board’s purview.

We wish him the best of luck. Based on his track record, we know he will bring his experience to bear and chart a new course for the board,” he added.

In his acceptance speech, Retired Major General Jibril thanked President Bola Tinubu for the appointment, describing it as a recognition of his contributions to national development.

I take this appointment as a call to serve and promise to make a great deal of difference,” he said. “I also appreciate the Minister of Interior, who is also the board chairman, for facilitating today’s meeting to adopt my appointment swiftly.”

He called for cooperation from all agencies under the board, including the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), and the Federal Fire Service.

I seek the support of all agencies under the board to work together in achieving our shared objectives,” Jibril stated.
