In a proactive operational move the high command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in a swift response has deployed tactical teams to forestall fire disaster at Guaraka, along Kaduna road after a tanker fell in the area.
Leading the Operational and Disaster response team, the DCG Operations, Philip Ayuna who represented the NSCDC CG. Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi, said the Corps is proactively alert to prevent further disaster arising as a result of Petroleum Tankers falling on roads.
The DCG Operations said the swift response is in tandem with one of the mandates of the NSCDC which centered on mitigation against disaster, rescue of victims during emergency, distribution of relief materials to displaced persons amongst others.
“We want to affirm that the situation is currently under control as our emergency team are fully on ground, this action has helped to prevent further damage or incidents beyond control”.
The NSCDC is however reassuring the public of adequate security and safety around the terrain noting that a high level of vigilance and preparedness would continue to be maintained by the Corps to ensure the safety and security of lives and property of citizens.
