Finland has helped reduce tension in the southeast.

General Musa told lawmakers that Ekpa’s arrest, combined with the military’s Operation Udoka, has led to improved stability in the region.

Operation Udoka, was established to flush banditry and end sit-at-home situation in the South-East.

He expressed concern over troops welfare, citing economic pressures and the need for improved living conditions.

He emphasized the importance of local manufacturing of military equipment, citing difficulties in acquiring arms internationally.

Chairman, House Committee on Defence, Babajimi Benson echoed the need for judicious spending and inter-agency collaboration to address evolving security threats.
