todayJanuary 14, 2025

Background

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr Abbas Tajudeen, has called for more support and cooperation for the Nigerian Armed Forces in their efforts to ensure the safety of lives and property in the country.

The Speaker’s message is in commemoration of this year’s Armed Forces Remembrance Day says the government will continue to strengthen the security outfit for the unity and prosperity of the country.

Dr Abbass, who notes that there can be no economic growth and stability without the safety of lives and investments, stated that security is a collective responsibility of all citizens and not government agencies alone.

He says Nigerians will be eternally grateful to members of the Armed Forces who paid the supreme price in the bid to protect their countrymen, adding that their labour would not be in vain.

As the security and welfare of the citizenry remain the primary responsibility of the government, the speaker notes that the 10th House will continue to prioritise security and safety agencies.

While calling for better welfare packages for them, the Speaker urges members of the Armed Forces, especially those at the war front, to continue to do their best in securing the country.

He prays for comfort for the families of the fallen heroes,
