At least 20 Men, Including Husband, Found Guilty In Pelicot Rape Trial

A French court has declared the ex-husband of Gisele Pelicot guilty of aggravated rapes and all other charges against him.

At least 20 of the men accused of being recruited by Frenchman Dominique Pelicot to rape his then-wife – who he knocked unconscious with drugs, over the course of about a decade – were found guilty of rape by the court in Avignon on Thursday.

Some of the men acknowledged wrongdoing, while others said they believed Gisele Pelicot had consented to sex.

The verdict for 72-year-old Dominique was read by the lead judge of the court, Roger Arata. He hasn’t yet delivered the sentence, which can be up to 20 years imprisonment.
