todayDecember 16, 2024

Background

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has commended the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, for facilitating the establishment of four tertiary institutions in Zaria, valued at N80 billion.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony for the institutions, Gov. Sani described Abbas as an exceptional leader dedicated to the growth and progress of Kaduna and Nigeria.

Abbas noted that the four institutions – National Open University, Federal College of Education, Federal College of Nursing, and College of Legal Studies – will address shortages in manpower in priority areas, including healthcare, education, and law.

According to Abbas, the Federal College of Nursing will help address the shortage of qualified nurses and midwives in Kaduna State.

‘The Federal College of Education will provide training for teachers, while the National Open University will cater to working-class individuals seeking higher education.

“The College of Legal Studies will help bridge the gap in the number of lawyers, judges, and magistrates in the state, he noted.”

The Speaker expressed optimism that the projects will be completed within 18 months, despite the estimated cost of N80 billion.

He commended Gov. Sani for promptly approving the land for the projects, saying the governor’s swift response was a testament to his commitment to education and development.

In his remarks, Gov. Sani praised Abbas for his vision and dedication to the development of Kaduna State.

He noted that the establishment of the four institutions will create opportunities for the state’s teeming youth population and complement the efforts of the state government.
