Tinubu Lauds Role Of NIS In Advancing Nat’l Security

The federal government has commended the Nigeria Immigration Service for its role in advancing national security and efficiency in Immigration Services.

President Bola Tinubu gave the commendation while commissioning the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Technology Innovation Centre, BATTIC, at the Nigeria Immigration Headquarters, Abuja.

According to him, the establishment of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Technology Innovation Centre is a significant step towards a more secure and digitally empowered future for Nigeria.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu noted that Nigeria is harnessing technology to drive its processes.

He commended the giant strides of the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo and the Comptroller General of Immigration Service Mrs Kemi Nandap stressing that the project is a milestone achievement towards a more effective security of the nation.

The President called on African leaders to embrace technology, innovation, and knowledge based opportunities to enhance their nation’s economy.

The Minister of Interior Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo appreciated the support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the Ministry noting that BATTIC would foster effective collaboration amongst security agencies under the Ministry of Interior and ensure a coordinated response to security threats.

The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service Mrs Kemi Nandap
said the facility is a true testament to Nigeria’s forward-thinking approach to digital transformation and national security.

Mrs Kemi Nandap emphasized that the leadership qualities of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu created an enabling environment for seamless operations across various sectors.
