Speaker Harps On Empowering Standard Regulators For Safety

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dr Abbas Tajudeen, has emphasized the need for empowering standard regulators to ensure safety and development in the country.

He made this call during a ceremony at his office in Abuja, where the Chartered Institute of Project Managers of Nigeria, CIPMN, conferred on him an Honorary Fellowship Award ¹.

Dr Abbas who attributed the collapse of buildings and infrastructure in various parts of the country to the failure of institutions responsible for quality assurance believed that if these institutions were given the necessary enabling environment to operate, many issues could be corrected.

As a newly inducted member of the CIPMN, Abbas expressed his commitment to join the campaign for proper project execution and management in Nigeria.

He emphasized the importance of project management, stating that it is a critical area that can benefit many members of the House through partnership ¹.

Abbas also highlighted his role as a monitor, mobilizer, and enforcer of laws guiding project managers, assuring that he will work towards building a united Nigeria where rules and regulations are upheld.

The President and Chairman of the CIPMN, Dr. Jamilu Isa Yankwashi praised Abbas’ leadership style and contributions to nation-building, describing him as a patriotic leader.
