NSCDC To Establish Counter Terrorism Communication Command Centre

Background

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has expressed readiness to set up a World Class Counter Terrorism Communication Command and Communication Centre ( CT-C4).

The Centre will be cited at the NSCDC National Headquarters in Abuja .

The NSCDC Boss, Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi said the establishment of the Centre is in tandem with the strategic goals of the Corps to leverage on advanced technology in securing lives, property and the nation’s critical infrastructure which underscores the commitment to support the federal government’s vision of a secured nation.

“The establishment of the CT-C4 signifies a bold step in our collective resolve to combat terrorism and insecurity within our borders; at the completion, the Center will serve as a State -of- the- Art- hub for communication, coordination and intelligence sharing which would facilitate rapid response and precision in counter terrorism, “the CG disclosed.”

The Commandant General further thanked the CEO, Equipping the Needy, Mr Benedict Aliku and other partners Mr Judd Saul, Mr Mark Danner and Mr steve Fisher who gave their words to support the Project and ensure its speedy completion , a pointer to the passion to enhance the nation’s security architecture.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, the Minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo commended the leadership ethos of the NSCDC Commandant General, Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi noting that the plan to establish the Counter Terrorism Centre was apt and timely based on the need to fight the dreaded terrorists, criminal elements and other non state actors across the globe.

The Secretary of the Civil Defence, Immigration, Fire Service and Correctional Service Board, Jaa’faru Ahmed admonished the Corps’ management to ensure that all hands are on deck for the timely completion of the centre.
