NUJ Election : HORPC Rejoices With Members Who Emerged Winners

The House of Representatives Press Corps, HORPC, has congratulated two of its members, Comrade Grace Ike and Jide Oyekunle, on their emergence as chairman and secretary of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, FCT Chapter.

In his Congratulatory message, HORPC Chairman Gboyega Onadiran expresses delight at seeing two dedicated and experienced journalists take over the affairs of the FCT NUJ Council.

Onadiran urges the new executives to promote the welfare of journalists, uphold high journalism standards, and foster unity and cooperation among FCT journalists.

Comrade Grace Ike made history by becoming the first female Chairperson of the NUJ FCT Council in 43 years.

She pledged to reposition the NUJ FCT Council through innovative projects that would impact directly on the welfare of members.

Ike’s campaign focused on promoting welfare, healthcare, capacity building, accountability, and giving the council a face-lift.

She also promised to establish a journalists’ village in the FCT, equipped with modern facilities for capacity building, relaxation, sports and conferences.
