The House of Representatives has commended Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umar-Bago for his significant strides in the agricultural sector.
Under matters of personal explanation, Member representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Mr Babajimi Benson, praised Governor Bago’s transformative efforts in agriculture, highlighting its substantial impact on local and national food security.
Benson also commended Bago’s dedication to driving infrastructural development, and promoting religious tolerance in the state.
“A military general from Cameroon, who had studied at Harvard, recently contacted him to express admiration for Governor Bago’s leadership, despite having no prior personal connection to him, Benson said.”
In his contribution, a lawmaker from Niger State, Saidu Abdullahi
expressed support for Benson’s remarks, stating that Governor Bago has committed 250,000 hectares of land to sugarcane cultivation, positioning Niger State as a key player in feeding the nation.
Abdullahi highlighted the state’s agricultural potential, noting that Governor Bago’s initiatives have the potential to improve food production and security.
He emphasized that the governor’s efforts are a significant milestone for Niger State, and he is honored to witness the remarkable efforts being made to elevate the state’s status.
The Lawmaker pointed out that there is virtually no opposition in Niger State, as the Governor treats all parties equally regardless of party affiliations.
Governor Mohammed Umar-Bago was a member of the House of Representatives from Niger State representing Chanchaga Federal Constituency.
